DRIVER

This position has been filled.

As a meat sourcing and logistics company, the role of driver is a key member of our team. You will be responsible for front-line service and handling perishable products, including: Pickups at farms and slaughterhouses, deliveries of customer orders, and general inventory support in receiving and tracking of product. The ideal candidate for this role will be organized and punctual. A good attitude and solid communication skills are necessary. 100% commitment to customer service and order accuracy is required. You should be comfortable spending time alone and also able to work in a self-directed manner without constant supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive company vehicle to pick up meat products from partner farmers and processors and deliver to company warehouse.*

  • Drive company vehicle to deliver customer orders.*

  • Carefully load and unload boxes and coolers of meat products between vehicle and designated storage areas, including lifting 50+ lbs and using trolleys and pallet jacks to transport product within the warehouse

  • Accurately manage route checklists and order paperwork for all product being transported and relay any issues or inconsistencies to management

  • Provide excellent service and develop familiarity with vendor and customer systems and preferences for pick-up and receiving

  • Ensure food safety and temperature control procedures are practiced at all times

  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and inventory warehouse space

  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings, as needed

  • Understand policies and practices that are relevant to our mission and be able to articulate these as a representative of our business

*All routes will start and end at the company warehouse at 6250 Baltimore Pike, Yeadon PA.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record

  • Must be able to sit and drive for long periods of time; able to stand and walk for long periods of time; able to lift 50+ pounds from the ground

  • Punctual, organized and detail-oriented

  • Responsible, independent and proactive with communication

  • Flexibility, desire to learn and a strong work ethic

  • Local food and/or sustainable agriculture experience is a bonus

Hours and Compensation

This position is 30-40 hours/week paid $12/hr. The ideal candidate will be availabile Tuesday through Saturday with some schedule flexibility, as some days will end earlier or later than scheduled. Typical work hours for this position are:

Tuesday 9am-5pm
Wednesday 12pm-6pm
Thursday 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-5pm
Saturday 8am-3pm

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

The heart of our operation is our weekly production routine. As a member of this team you will care for our product and assist in operations including: Meat processing, inventory management, packaging, equipment and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate for this role will be organized, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced environment. A good attitude and solid communication skills are necessary. 100% commitment to sustaining product and production standards is required. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and also able to work in a self-directed manner without constant supervision.

*Meat processing experience is a bonus but not required. We will train the right candidate into this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meat processing while maintaining quality and production standards:

    • Grinding meat, de-boning and trimming meat, sausage making, finishing and portioning retail cuts

  • Assist in packaging and order fulfillment

  • Assist in inventory and cooler organization

  • Work efficiently as part of a team to ensure timely and organized work flow

  • Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards

  • Practice food safety and temperature control procedures at all times

  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings, as needed

  • Understand policies and practices that are relevant to our mission and be able to articulate these as a representative of our business

Requirements:

  • Able to stand and walk for 8+ hours, work in a cold environment and be able to lift 50+ pounds from the ground

  • Fast learner with a strong work ethic

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently

  • Punctual, organized and detail-oriented

  • Flexible and proactive with communication

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers

  • Cooking experience (may be professional or personal)

  • Commitment to local food and sustainable meat production

Hours and Compensation

This position is 35-40 hours/week with starting pay at $12/hr (depending on experience). This position has the ability to transition to full-time. The ideal candidate will be available on all production days with some schedule flexibility, as some days will end earlier or later than scheduled. Typical work hours for this position are:

Monday 9am-6pm
Tuesday 9am-5pm
Wednesday 9am-6pm
Friday 9am-6pm
